You’re probably curious about the person behind the story. That’s me, Therese Larkins, pictured opposite in 2022. 

I hold a Bachelor of Education with majors in English and TESOL. My love of language, stories and storytelling has been a lifelong companion, but up until now, life has kept me busy. I’ve recently decided it’s time for a change, and I have written a few books that I’m very excited about. Garden Gnomes Looking For Homes is one of them. 

My career has been as varied as my interests—I've run my own businesses, spent over 14 years in the corporate world, taught English and EAL (English as an Additional Language) at secondary level and I've been a curriculum writer and manager in the TAFE system.

I’m particularly proud of my daughter, Jessica Lea, a talented artist who brings my stories to life with her beautiful illustrations.
